Elementary Band Program (CRPD)

The Conejo Recreation & Park District will be offering the Elementary Band Program at Conejo Valley Unified Schools as part of a before or afterschool program for the 2026-27 school year. At this time, the traditional beginning band program will be held on campus at Banyan, Cypress, EARThS, Lang Ranch, Sycamore Canyon, Weathersfield, Westlake, and Westlake Hills only. There is also a Redwood Ensemble beginning and advanced band on the campus of Redwood Middle School for the students who attend Acacia, Aspen, Glenwood, Madrona, or Wildwood.

For Advanced Bands, we are offering six locations for an Elementary Band Ensemble at one elementary school campus for each main area of town. One at EARThS Magnet School, Westlake Elementary, Westlake Hills Elementary, one at Lang Ranch Elementary, and one at Weathersfield Elementary. This year, we have added an advanced ensemble on the campus of Redwood Middle School as well. Sycamore Canyon will be the only school holding a traditional advanced band for their students only. The ensembles are open to all 4th and 5th graders in the community from CVUSD, private, and home schools with 1 or more years of experience. The later start times will allow students from nearby areas to get to an alternative site and to allow those interested in music a chance to continue to learn and grow. Those enrolled for both semesters of the school year will be eligible to participate in the All-District Music Festival.

Program Info:

  • Tuition: $230 per session.
  • Sessions: Two per school year. (Fall and Spring)
  • Eligibility: Students enrolled for the entire year are eligible to perform at the All-District Music Festival.
  • For Whom: 4th and 5th Grade Students 

Financial Assistance Request:
All programs through CRPD are eligible for Financial Assistance through Play Conejo. You must meet the requirements in the pack to be awarded financial assistance. Please read the packet in full and gather all required materials before applying. Link for Financial Assistance is available here in English and Spanish. Do not register for class if applying for assistance — your registration will be processed through the financial assistance program if awarded. Forms are available here.
