General Information on Renting Band and String Instruments

Instruments and books
Once you have decided on your instrument–flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, trombone, violin, viola, cello, or percussion–students and parents are responsible for providing instruments, equipment and the method book. Supplemental material will be provided by the instructor at no extra charge. Students may purchase or rent instruments from the following music stores:

A folding music stand and extra reeds are suggested.

Percussionist/Drums
Beginning percussionist need a pair of 3B or 5B drum sticks, a Remo drum pad and a Remo stand to hold the drum pad. I suggest a percussion kit which includes a set of bells and a drum pad/stand. They will not need a snare drum until the second semester.
